Was Martin Luther King Jr murdered by RAY or THE DOCTOR?

During MLK day, as I was looking over my news feed on Facebook I came across an article that mentioned how he was shot by James Earl Ray but his family believes Ray was not his killer. On April 4th, 1968 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was shot while giving a speech. However, his family believed Ray is innocent and that it was a government setup. Even though, MLK protests were passive they were not seen that way by the authority. According to the article,Ray confessed to the crime on March 10^th, 1969 and was sentenced to 99 years in prison. His family had many reasons to believe the government was involved because the FBI surveilled and harassed their family. When MLK was shot, and rush to the operating room, he was still alive. However, it has not been able to prove this is what actually happened. McMillian mentioned that MAYBE they weren't involved in his murder but that individual should be aware of the really shameful things they did to them.
